Ethos: Each jacket is carefully crafted using 14oz Japanese Raw Selvedge denim, sourced from an heirloom factory in Japan. This particular fabric was made using vintage shuttle looms that have been in use since the 1950's. The shuttle loom is ultra slow in comparison to its modern counterpart such as the rapier and require more attention when weaving. However, the product it delivers is far superior to any automated, modern machine.

I only have enough fabric to make 10 of these. Please allow 2 weeks for your item to be individually made for you. Once you place your order, I will make your order as fast as I can. Once I hit 10 orders, I will close this product page.

Fit: Jacket quite boxy and true to size length. I prefer my jackets a bit cropped and more narrow, so i size down. However, since the fabric is raw, it will feel rigid and a bit odd on the first few wears.  As you wear it, it will crease and mold to your body, fade at points of strain, and wear according to how you live your life... making your jacket that much more personal and unique. Please check the size guide before making any decisions

Embedded size guide seems to be broken so please check the last slide.

A Little Bit More Information About the Fabric...

So Why Raw Denim?

Raw jeans are jeans that have not been washed in their production process. This is how jeans used to be made.

As efficiency oriented production started taking over the world, high volume, ultra-consistent, low cost processes became ubiquitous. The denim became thinner and washed for consistency and if you pick up any old jean in a store today, they will reflect this.

Raw denim is a nod to a pastime. Raw denim really only makes sense to produce nowadays if you are more concerned with quality as opposed to efficiency or fast fashion.

What's Selvedge Denim?

Selvedge denim refers to the "self edge" on the end of the fabric, which is a consequence of the machine it was made from; the shuttle loom. This loom is ultra slow in comparison to its modern counterparts such as the rapier.

Shuttle looms are old technology, and most of the shuttle looms in operation, making good quality fabric are from the early 1900s. So much more time and attention is needed to weave the fabric, leading to the highest quality fabrics you can purchase on the market.
